Relax and rejuvenate in the Elizabeth Arden Red Door Spa. From manicures to massage to makeup, you’ll feel pampered and pleasured after a session or full day in our soothing spa sanctuary.
Now for the really tough decision: Which of our world-class golf courses will you play first? Will it be the Gold, the Patriot, or the Heritage?
At 7,430 yards, our gold course was designed by the talented and gifted architect Robert Trent Jones, Sr. Voted as the “Most Challenging Valley Course” by Arizona Foothills Magazine (2013 and 2014) and one of the “Best Golf Courses” by Golfweek (2012), you’re sure to enjoy play on this rugged course. We’re proud that the Gold Course was chosen as host site for the U.S. Open Qualifier. Like the pros, you’ll be challenged by hard greens and multiple sand traps.
During the summer of 2015, the Gold Course underwent an extensive golf course renovation. Lead by former British Open champion and PGA TOUR veteran Tom Lehman, in collaboration with The Wigwam’s ownership group JDM Partners, the renovation work focused on modernizing the bunkering and layout of the 50-year-old course while still keeping Robert Trent Jones Sr.’s original strategic-intent in place.
During the renovation process the Lehman Design Group eliminated 30 bunkers and relocated and reshaped numerous others. Bunkers are now more strategically placed for today’s game, while fairway/target lines now move left and right off the tee, thus eliminating the straight “bowling-alley feel” the course once had. All 18 of Trent Jones Sr.’s signature greens were left untouched during the renovation project.
With the 2015 renovation, the Gold Course once again stands among the nation’s finest as the polish is back on a classic Robert Trent Jones Sr. design.
The Patriot, another Jones’ creation, is a 6,000 yard, par 70 course. But make no mistake: shorter does not equate to easier. With elevated greens and challenging fairways, golfers describe these 18 holes as both invigorating and aggravating. The 17th hole, while short with a par 3, is a mirror image to the well-known 16th hole at the Augusta National.
Water hazards? Check. Challenging holes? Check. Lush trees? Check. In other words, if you’re up for an adventure, you’re going to love The Heritage Course. At 6,852 yards, it’s midway between the Gold and Patriot courses. Designed by Robert “Red” Lawrence, an Arizona Hall of Fame golf course architect, the Heritage provides play around canals and ponds. Enjoy your playing time on the first 14 holes, because the last four are especially taxing.
